The recovery period for otoplasty is typically one week. If removable sutures are used, they are taken out after about a week, although some procedures may not require any sutures to be removed. After surgery, patients spend a few hours in a private recovery room before being discharged into the care of a responsible family member or friend, allowing them to return home the same day.
Recovery From Ear Surgery at Home
Patients will need to wear a headband dressing over their ears for the first few days and should avoid putting pressure on their ears while sleeping. The ears may feel tender for 3 to 5 days, but most individuals can return to their normal routines shortly after.
